This morning I came across a quote that said something to the effect of, if you want your life to change your choices must change and today is the best day of your life to begin.  Naturally, I have been feeling a little out of sorts with the car issue and associated repair costs, but when I read those words I thought to myself yes, today it begins again.  It begins again and again each and everyday, it is a practice.  As we go about our practice, it might get uncomfortable to look inside and see yourself as you stand.  It certainly is for me, especially right this moment!  I think it is important to embrace these feelings, let them sink in and acknowledge whatever they might be, good, bad or indifferent.  We must begin today, and change begins with the acknowledgement of where we stand in the moment.  No judgment, just acknowledge where you stand today.

Often when we resist, it makes us wither and shrink into ourselves.  When we are open to change, we can re-enter the flow of life.  I think that as human beings this process of living day to day repeatedly etches our heart with pain and joy.  We experience this like the water lapping at the shore, it goes in and out and we, like the shore, should experience the feelings and let them go.  It is just that simple.  However,  we need to remember to leave enough room in the process of new beginnings to be kind to ourselves, because it takes time to become accustomed to anything new, no matter how much we like it.

Today, I am choosing to release those feelings of judgment of self.  I am choosing to be free.
