The Sage who is
Forthright but not hurting;
Sharp but not wounding,
Candid but not being crude;
Shining but not dazzling.~ Lao Tzu

Balance is the middle way; it is a state of dualism found throughout the world of meeting both the feminine and male energies. With summer upon us and the longer hours of daylight found in the Northern Hemisphere, it is an important time to once again check-in with how we are finding balance in life.  The challenge is for us to find our equilibrium, and when we do we can be more effective.  All things in this world exist in dualism.  The Earth we live on is feminine (yin) and the sun that provides us with life is male energy (yang).  In order to live in harmony, we need to balance these energies.  When these energies are in balance, we are strong, wise, creative human beings and bring balance to the planet as well.  In reality, we are spiritual beings experiencing ourselves through a human body. On a deeper, broader level you could say we are Source, God, the Creator, or whatever term you use to describe the essence of all life.  When we transcend dualities we touch into this spiritual oneness, completeness and wholeness.  It is a delicate act to bring both into balance, and one must be as skilled as a brain surgeon in order to realize each half and bring them into harmony.

Each day we are tested to see how we can bring balance into life.  Today I have had many small things placed on my path, and there have been other days when I have had what seemed liked boulders placed on my path, all requiring the delicate act of balance.  When you are in balance, you are able to appreciate your active self and yet set appropriate boundaries while nurturing internal stillness and gentleness.  Challenges will be better managed and pass quickly when balance is employed resulting in a charge of positive energy being released internally and externally back out into the world.  It is from this positive, loving flow of balance that all things exist and we can envision peace and healing for our world.

Try to find your balance through whatever means speak to you personally and see how your bright, shining light reflects out to the universe today.
