Happy New Year and blessings to all! Between the shootings in Newtown, Connecticut and some dear friends facing very serious health issues in the last weeks of the year, I gradually closed myself off and did not listen to my creative process. Fear the age-old emotion that can snuff out our light arrived right on time, and while I write about it and attempt to live the best life I can, it still happens to all of us. What I would like to share is that it is all okay, I forgive myself for being overwhelmed with life in the last weeks of the year and have released the fear and have once again come to my keyboard this morning to share. What can you release today in this New Year to allow some room for miracles in your life?
One thing I did with my college-aged son (yes he actually participated) was to make vision/intention boards for the New Year. He was not totally attuned with this project at first, but he got into it as time passed and we both created our own unique vision boards for the New Year. One of my intentions is to believe in miracles. A miracle need be only something as simple as waking up and being able to have your feet touch the floor in the morning. I can already see them at work in my life just be holding the belief that they will occur from my feet touching the floor in the morning to so much more.
Today I read an article that discussed a study in Canada whereby the participants wrote down things they wanted to release and then shredded, burned or destroyed the paper these thoughts were written on. Next the participants wrote down things they set as their intentions, and carried those slips of paper around with them. Guess what, the people in the study reported they were able to let go of the things they released and began to see the things they set as intentions manifest in their lives. Simple and powerful. It all goes back to letting go of fear, and not allowing fear to get in our way of daily living.
It is fear that causes so much hatred in this world, and perhaps if we could each let go of some of what we carry and soften our hearts just a little we could begin to heal not only ourselves, but our Earth.
Sending oodles of love and light to everyone for this coming year, and much laughter!
The trick is in what one emphasizes. We either make ourselves miserable, or we make ourselves happy. The amount of work is the same.
