Acceptance and Healing

Acceptance of all parts of self is how we begin to heal.  We can cut the ropes that tie us to the opinions of others if we are first willing to stop our own judgments of how things should be, how people should act, what others should wear, and what is sensible.  In order to do this you must first sever your limiting beliefs and examine your own convictions, most of which were formed when you were very young.  One avenue of proceeding is to get paper and pen and journal (one of my favorite healing tools) about things that were ‘should not’s or ‘never do’ in your experience as you were growing up.  Make a list, journal about these things.  Once you have completed this, look at areas where some of these unspoken rules are limiting your self-expression and potential.  After identifying the limiting effect of these ‘old ideas’, you may choose instead to journal about new decisions regarding these limiting beliefs and make a list of positive ways to express yourself, leaving the old guilt’s and fears behind.  As you make this new list, you will journey further into your serious issues and you may, if you so choose, cut the cord of fear of self-expression.  There is no failure in those who have the courage to express themselves.  The only failure is in refusing to take the chance.  When you come fully into your self and accept all parts of yourself, you will assist the whole of Creation.  Do this with truth, grace and love in your heart for the whole of yourself and the universe.

We are not held back by the love we didn’t receive in the past, but by the love we’re not extending in the present.

“There is no failure in those who have the courage to express themselves. The only failure is in refusing to take the chance.” This, like your entire write, really stands out for me. I work with young women and men who want to become teachers, but for social, economical or simply being told that they will never make it reasons; they have buried themselves into what society has labeled them to be. It’s not so much the failure in refusing but the battered affect of what they’ve been told. I’m so very proud of my students and though it is a hard road to get them to even embrace the universe again, they are trying and beginning to believe and love themselves ~ Beautiful write; thank you…

  2. Thank you, your words fully touch my heart. Perhaps you can do the journal technique with them and it might help to shine some more light on their own grace, for we all have it. Life sometimes conspires to shut it down, but they can achieve whatever they want. Kudos to you for leading the way and assisting them through this difficult process, and many blessings for your work on the journey.
