Dreaming of a New World

Full moon and lunar eclipse, need I say more? This was also known as a Harvest Moon, a Super Moon and a Blood Moon. What does this all mean? A Harvest Moon is a full moon that occurs closest to the autumnal equinox, and it is usually a powerful time of change and new beginnings. A Super Moon is when the moon is closest to the Earth due to its rotation and orbit. This is usually a time where the energetic effects of the moon as well as emotions run high and are more strongly felt.   A Blood Moon is when the Earth casts a shadow on the Moon causing the sun’s light to hit the moon and make it appear red. Additionally this was a lunar tetrad, which is when four (4) total lunar eclipses happen in a row.

Inspiring, moving, cleansing . . . what did it bring forth in you? In the astrological world, lunar eclipses are usually associated with releasing what no longer serves you to create new beginnings and spur your personal growth. However, the exact changes that are stimulated will depend on the astrological signs that the sun and the moon fall into during the eclipse. This full moon fell in the first degree of the fire sign Aries, which is why this eclipse carried strong energies related to assertiveness, action and individualism.

This eclipse also marked the ending of the lunar tetrad cycle along the Libra-Aries axis that began in April of last year. Each of these eclipses has challenged us in various ways to assert our own personal needs all the while being able to recognize the importance of caring for others. Since this cycle began, many of us have experienced intense personal and relational challenges and growth. Many of my relationships are barely recognizable compared to where they were when this cycle began last year. It is time to reflect upon these changes, transformations, births and deaths, and integrate how they shape your path for the future. With endings, come new beginnings.

So today make it a great day for a new beginning allowing your cleansed self to make a difference in the world. Use your open heart and share some of the compassion these intense times have birthed in your heart. If we all share that expression just imagine the possibilities!

Desire is the beginning of all new creation.

  3. WhaT a lovely post heather… For me it’s all been about the relationship with myself and allowing myself to express who I am to everyone… I’m having to take lots of quiet me-time and be patient and to trust the flow of my divide self, who I hope agrees with the deadline of my book launch in a few weeks time, exciting times. Love to you heather… Barbara x
